The Polote Experience
As the direct result of her experience, Soror Polote has identified and addressed many of the issues that have negatively impacted sorors individually and in chapters. The Polote Experience platform provides nine key goals for sorority work and development:
● Continuous awareness of Membership Intake processes and tools to maintain a current knowledge base for all chapters and sorors, even those who are not actively preparing to conduct MIT.
● Increased communication to the region regarding available scholarship opportunities offered by the Sorority.
● Timely and comprehensive communication related to compliance requirements, policies and procedures, chapter elections, membership intake, chapter management, scholarship availability, as well as other inquiries, questions, and concerns.
● Cooperative alliance with the Southern Regional Director and Representative, State Coordinators and Facilitators, and collegiate and alumnae sorors to strengthen the voice and advocate for the needs of the Southern Region.
● Enhance the Advisor and New Member Orientation trainings to generate effective tools that address generational differences which impede communication and negatively impact relationships between collegiate sorors and advisor.
● Collaborative coalition with the six sister regions to move Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. forward.
● Engaging, informative education and training on membership intake, policies, and chapter management.
● Fair, unbiased enforcement of the Constitution and Bylaws, the Code of Conduct, and all of the sorority’s governing documents.
● Conducting regularly scheduled “Chat Channels” designed to encourage soror engagement across the region, facilitate the sharing of information, and addressing concerns.
